Footballers join forces to support Jordan
The group are playing in a specially arranged tournament at Fleetwood Town’s FUSE football on Sunday after Spedding was struck with illness at the end of last year.
The Boars Head Thistle striker, who fired more than 25 goals last season to lead his side to the Premier Division title, is undergoing treatment for serious condition which has left him unable to work.

Hide AdAnd this weekend as many as 14 Sunday Alliance side’s will come together to battle for the Jordan Spedding cup, a competition arranged by local football fan Ryan Smith.
Smith, a friend of the Spedding family, said: “It’s the least we could do to support a great lad in Jordan.
“The Speddings have always made me welcome over the years at Boars Head games and hopefully this is my way of thanking them.
“I’ve arranged the tournament and have been amazed by the support.

Hide Ad“I’d like to thank Fleetwood Town, all the players and the ex-pros who are giving up their time too.
“Hopefully it will give Jordan a boost and raise money at the time time.”
Among the teams entering will be a ‘former player eleven’ including ex-Bolton and Aston Villa midfielder Gavin McCann.
He’ll be joined by the likes of Jamie Milligan, Andy Preece and Simon Wiles.

Hide AdThe event kicks-off at FUSE football at 5pm before moving onto Thornton Football Club at 8pm for the post match drinks.
Smith added: “We want people who can’t play to come to Thornton FC afterwards and show their support.”
