The first half was a hard-fought battle, with Blackpool having several chances only to be denied by Euxton’s keeper.

In the second half, the goals soon started to fly in, with Minnie Rogers breaking the deadlock by slotting into the bottom corner.

Euxton got back on level terms courtesy of a penalty before Keisha Masterson restored Blackpool’s lead.

Isla Makepeace battered the bar then the post before eventually scoring Blackpool’s last two goals. The superb Minnie Rogers was player of the match.

In the North Valley & Burnley Unity League, YMCA Under-13s beat Myerscough 4-2 at home.

YMCA were made to work hard, trailing 1-0 after 15 minutes. YMCA were a threat on the break and Isabelle Kells soon got her side back level with a sweet strike into the corner.

Myerscough were stronger in the tackle, though, and led 2-1 at half-time.

YMCA came out much more resilient in the second period and levelled when Honey Griffith played an excellent pass to Kells, who cut inside to score.

The catalyst for the improved second-half display was Megan Lewis in midfield. Her energy and drive saw he race clear to find the top corner of the net with a ferocious drive.

YMCA were awarded a free-kick when a backpass was handled and Jackson, finished well to complete a fine victory.

Despite dominating the first half, YMCA Under-16s lost 2-0 to Cadley as they continue their search for their first win.

YMCA squandered numerous opportunities but were also frustrated by Cadley’s keeper, who was in excellent form and made a number of fine tops.

The second half followed a similar pattern as YMCA continued to carve out chances but an unfortunate mix-up in their defence allowed the visitors to scored against the run of play. Cadley broke to add a second as YMCA pushed forward in search of an equaliser.
