Rosler's Fleetwood back from the dead to bury Bantams

Town found themselves 1-0 down at half-time after Jordy Hiwula’s 43rd minute strike.

But despite being outclassed in the first half, Town turned it around in the second half, with substitutes Bobby Grant, Ash Hunter and Elohor Godswill all making an impact as fourth-placed Town stretched their unbeaten League One run to 15 games.

Hunter teed-up ex-Bradford forward Devante Cole to level, then comeback kid Conor McLaughlin’s cross following a neat Kyle Dempsey short corner was diverted into his own goal by Rory McArdle in the 81st minute.

Rosler was delighted after his men fought back to beat a Bantams side he rated the best to have visited Highbury this term.

The head coach said: “I think at half-time we were dead and buried to be fair. We played a very good Bradford City team.

“In the first half I think they were the best team at our place this season.

“We never got started apart from the first 10 minutes. We could not keep that momentum for longer and they took over.

“Apart from two chances they didn’t create much but they looked a bit better than us in the first half, I have to say. Second half we started to earn that momentum and the substitutions made the momentum even stronger.

“The longer the game went on I think we deserved at least a draw.

“That we got the win was fantastic from my players because they never gave up. They wanted to win the game.

“We committed people in the box and when you do that there is always a chance to score.

“At half-time the players were a little bit down and I wasn’t sure we would get them right, but I think in the second half they felt comfortable.

“Probably the worst thing for Bradford’s players was half-time because they were so much on top.

“But we grew into the game. We took over in the second half. We had chances and I saw us scoring even more goals.

“It is just a massive compliment to my players that even after a first half when the opposition was so much on top we did not give up. You don’t often see me speechless but I am.”

Town have now opened up a four-point gap over fifth-placed Bradford.
