Pool’s assistant manager , pictured, has been impressed with the improvement shown by the Seasiders in recent weeks, earning draws against Walsall and Sheffield United.

While the results haven’t really eased their relegation worries, Kyle feels the improvement shown is huge.

“Saturday is another tough game, Gillingham are flying high,” said Kyle.

“We will go into that with lots of confidence now after how we’ve played against two decent sides.

“I think Gillingham will be worried about coming to Bloomfield Road now.

“Teams are starting to take note of what we’ve been doing and thinking Bloomfield Road is a tough place to come.

“The lads have really raised their game now.

“We aren’t just difficult to beat any more, we also offer a treat.

“I think we can go and win Saturday’s game.”

All season Pool’s players have spoken about the atmosphere inside the dressing room being good.

It’s something which fans have been quick to dismiss with results being less than impressive in the first half of the season.

But Kyle hopes supporters are finally seeing what they’ve been talking about.

He said: “There’s a real spirit in the dressing room, I know we’ve been talking about it all season but I think the fans are seeing it now.

“The lads are fighting for every ball and working so hard for the team and every point.

“It’s something we’ve been pleased with for weeks now.”

Blackpool are two points above the League One relegation zone, and have plenty of work to do to drag themselves away from trouble. Something Kyle believes they are making progress with.

“We are competing in every game now,” he said.

“Not only that I feel we can go on and win games now.

“We are going into every game thinking we can win it now, it’s about kicking on now.”
