We need more of an attacking threat, says Pool boss Bowyer
The Blackpool boss was left satisfied with a point and a clean sheet in last weekend’s 0-0 draw at MK Dons, a result that stretched the gap to the bottom four to seven points.
But the stalemate meant the Seasiders have now scored just twice in their last four games.

“On reflection, it was a battling point last week,” he said. “A point and a clean sheet away from home, you’ll take that whoever you play.
“But from an attacking point of view, it wasn’t until the last 10 minutes or so that we really gave an account of what we’re capable of.
“Viv Solomon-Otabor had a couple of good runs and then Sean Longstaff hits the bar.

“We’ve talked all season about the collective responsibility and everyone contributing. We want everyone scoring goals and everyone defending.”
Blackpool host Doncaster Rovers at Bloomfield Road on Good Friday before making the short trip to face Oldham at Boundary Park on Monday.
Friday’s match-up will see the league’s draw specialists take on one another, as the two sides have 27 stalemates between them.

“You can look at that two ways, people will say you’ve drawn a lot and that’s true. But what it also says is we’re difficult to beat and that’s a good character to have.
“There’s ourselves on 14 draws, Rochdale on 14 and then after that Doncaster on 13.
“So everyone will be predicting a draw this Friday.
“But for us, we’ve just got to concentrate on what we’ve been doing well.

“There’s eight games to go and there’s a hell of a lot of points left to play for and we’ve got to try and get as many of them as we possibly can.
“That’s the same message to the players.
“We can’t look ahead to Monday until we’ve dealt with Friday, that’s as simple as it gets for us.
“That will be the focus: Doncaster. Once that game is finished, we’ll quickly change to the local derby which is Oldham away.”
