NEW Fylde RU recruit Warren Spragg has spoken of his delight at joining the Woodlands club after his spell playing in Italy.

He said: “I’m really pleased to be joining Fylde on my return to the North West.

“The club has made some great strides forward in the past few years and look to have combined a great style of rugby with some good results.

“As the new strength and conditioning coach I hope to be able to improve the fitness levels of the squad which will allow us to be more effective playing an attractive brand of running rugby.”

n FYLDE rugby club say they have accepted the swingeing 27-week ban imposed on second row forward Gareth Rawlings for his part in an off-field incident while on international duty in East Africa earlier in the summer.

It has been alleged that Rawlings struck a man in a bar.

Chairman Andy Hiles said: “The club accepts that the RFU have dealt with this matter in a manner appropriate to their procedures in relation to the conduct of players who represent England.”
