FYLDE RFC winger Nick Royle, who is coming to the end of his central contract with England Sevens, is in the squad for the Moscow Sevens next weekend.

And England officials are predicting he will go out with a bang and secure a Super League contract by switching codes.

England head coach Ben Ryan paid tribute to Royle’s contribution to the national cause.

Ryan said: “Nick was the tournament’s leading try scorer with 40 last year in Europe.

“He’s leaving us later in the summer, and I’m sure he’ll pick up a contract in the Super League after going out in a blaze of glory.”

England are defending the Moscow Sevens title as part of the European Grand Prix series.

Another Fylde player in for a busy summer is centre Scott Barrow, who arrives next week from Leeds Carnegie.

As well as playing and helping with community coaching, Barrow (left) will also be involved in commercial matters.

As part of that brief, Barrow will be discussing sponsorship opportunities with existing and new business partners in and beyond Lancashire in the weeks ahead of the 2012-13 season, which opens with a very big game against one of the promotion favourites, Esher on September 1.
