An American-born author is heading to Fylde next week when she visits four local venues inside three days.

Peggy Riley is promoting her first novel Amity and Sorrow after making her name as a playwright.

Now resident in Kent, Peggy is at Kirkham Library next Wednesday evening and Ansdell Library the following afternoon, along with Storytellers Inc in St Annes and Plackitt and Booth, Lytham on the evenings of next Thursday and Friday, September 27 respectively.

At Plackitt and Booth, she will be sharing the stage with Preston-based author Jenn Ashworth.

Tickets for the library visits are free and details of all Peggy’s appearances are available from the venues.

Meanwhile, crime author Ian McFadyen will be at two Fylde libraries next week as part of his own ambitious itinerary of visiting 15 Lancashire libraries in five days to promote his latest book.

But his list of venues has been altered from the originally-released schedule.

He will be at St Annes Library on Monday from 7-8pm and Freckleton Library the following Friday from 10.30am.
