The ever-popular Lytham Hall Outdoor Theatre season returns this summer - and tickets go on sale on Thursday.
Organiser Julian Wilde is once again proud to partner with local shops which will be selling tickets, as the visiting theatre companies’ websites.
Selling locally, in person or by phone, will be Lytham Hall, Lowther Pavilion, Plackitt And Booth and Stringers Homelife all in Lytham, Storytellers Inc. in St Annes and Bennetts Bakery in Ansdell.
“People are pleased that they can book on-line as well as at our six local outlets and I am confident that we are going to have a well-supported season,” Julian said.
Chapterhouse Theatre Company will launch the season on Sunday, June 17, presenting Richard Main’s production of Louisa Alcott’s popular novel, Little Women, adapted for the stage by Laura Turner to mark the 150th anniversary of its publication.
Fylde coast fans will then welcome the return of Illyria, as artistic director Oliver Gray stages Shakespeare’s The Merchant Of Venice on Sunday, July 8.
Oliver is looking forward to being part of the Lytham Hall bill once again.
“We love the enthusiasm of our loyal followers on the Lancashire coast and the beautiful setting in the parklands of Lytham Hall is ideal for open air performance,” he said.
Illyria will be back for a double header weekend with The Hound Of The Baskervilles on Saturday, August 18 at 7.30pm, followed on the Sunday by Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates Of Penzance at 6pm, before closing the season with the family show The Adventures Of Doctor Dolittle on Bank Holiday Sunday, August 26.
